Thyssenkrupp's New Era order book is in good shape, with an order book worth around €1.4 billion. The contracted projects have a total installed electrolytic capacity of more than 3 gigawatts (GW), including one of the world's largest electrolytic hydrogen production plants planned in Saudi Arabia with a capacity of more than 2GW. In addition, ThyssenKrupp New Era will supply Shell with a 200MW electrolysis unit in the Port of Rotterdam and a 700MW electrolysis unit for a steel plant in Sweden. In the alkaline water electrolysis (AWE) business area alone, ThyssenKrupp New Era expects sales of approximately 600 to 700 million euros in the upcoming financial year 2023/24.

Green hydrogen is a key factor in the decarbonization of many energy-intensive industries and is essential to achieving climate protection goals. Thyssenkrupp New Era's alkaline hydro-electrolysis (AWE) technology, unlike other technologies, allows for the large-scale production of green hydrogen on an industrial scale. This is thanks to more than half a century of experience in the field of electrolysis technology, including plant construction and technical services.
