1.Product Introduction

The function ofComposite bipolar plate (also known as diaphragm) is to provide gas flow channel, prevent the collusion betweenhydrogen and oxygen in the battery gas chamber, and establish a current path between the Cathode and anode in series. On the premise of maintaining a certain mechanical strength and good gas resistance, the thickness of Composite bipolar plate should be as thin as possible to reduce the conduction resistance to current and heat.Product parameters of bipolar plate produced by standard die.

A fuel cell uses the chemical energy of hydrogen or other fuels to cleanly and efficiently produce electricity. If hydrogen is the fuel, the only products are electricity, water, and heat.Fuel cells are unique in terms of the variety of their potential applications; they can use a wide range of fuels and feedstocks and can provide power for systems as large as a utility power station and as small as a laptop computer.Composite Bipolar plate is the core accessory of fuel cell.

They play crucial roles in water and gas management, mechanical strength and electrical conductivity. It also significantly contributes to the volume, weight and cost of fuel cell stacks. The properties of Composite bipolar plates are affected by the materials and processes used in the manufacturing of the plates. 


4, Product Details

For the moldedcomposite bipolar plate, the type and ratio of conductive graphite powder and resin are particularly critical, and some trade-offs need to be made in the design of conductivity and mechanical strength.



Composite Bipolar plates are key components of proton exchange membrane fuel cells –they notably distribute fuel gas and air and conduct electricity. Various materials and surface treatments have been developed to improve their properties.

 

TheComposite bipolar plates need proper surface treatment. After nickel plating on the anode side of theComposite bipolar plate, the conductivity is good, and it is not easy to be wetted by the electrolyte, which can avoid the loss of electrolyte. 


The flexible contact between the electrolyte diaphragm and the Composite bipolar plate outside the effective area of the electrode can effectively prevent the gas from leaking out, which is the so-called "wet seal". In order to reduce the corrosion of molten carbonate on stainless steel at the "wet seal" position, the Composite bipolar plate frame needs to be "aluminized" for protection
